Tiger Woods at The Deutsche Bank Championship

<p goog_ds_charindex="16"><strong>There were no cameras allowed</strong> so you won't find any photos here&nbsp;of my visit&nbsp;to the <strong>Deutsche Bank Championship Golf Tournament</strong> in Massachusetts.&nbsp;There is no question that the view from my couch at home, especially with HDTV, is much better.&nbsp; But <strong>I was there to see Tiger Woods.</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;I was lucky to be able to get within feet of him as he conveniently lined up a putt near the spot I had planted myself on the 14th hole.&nbsp;I was able to stare awhile as&nbsp;he sat&nbsp;even closer&nbsp;waiting for Phil&nbsp;to finish. &nbsp;I even got a pretty&nbsp;good look at Frank, his head cover.&nbsp; Cute guy.&nbsp; Both of them actually.&nbsp; You always knew where Tiger was on the course as a giant amoeba of people followed him and lined up from tee box to green.&nbsp;I joined the amoeba most of the day.</p><p goog_ds_charindex="507">It was supposed to be cool with a chance of rain.&nbsp; It didn't rain and it certainly wasn't cool with bright sun and temperatures in the upper 80's.&nbsp;&nbsp;It really isn't a fan friendly course like River Highlands in Hartford.&nbsp;There are few bleachers and finding water to buy at $3.50 a bottle took some effort. The fans didn't seem to mind and it was a typical polite golf crowd.&nbsp; Even those that drank a few too many beers were kind&nbsp;in their comments except for a few hecklers of Sergio Garcia who makes&nbsp;that easy.&nbsp; I met some really nice people including two women who left their husbands at home.&nbsp;<strong>They were there to see Tiger Woods.&nbsp; </strong></p><p goog_ds_charindex="1143"><strong>He played with Phil and VJ but in the end&nbsp;the&nbsp;kids were there to see Tiger, too.</strong> Plenty of them&nbsp;missed school yesterday&nbsp;for that privilege.&nbsp;&nbsp;One of my favorite moments from the tournament came in the shuttle bus on the way back to the parking lot.&nbsp; A boy, I'd guess to be about 8, looked up at his dad and said <strong>&quot;This was the very best day.&quot;&nbsp;</strong> </p><p goog_ds_charindex="1143">I felt the same way.&nbsp;</p> 10 application/xml false Deutsche Bank Championship Ledyard CT Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; SU 3.005; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 ldavis false true false false true 205810 false false true false false false true 125800 blog blogsite/CTRelocation/web
