Getting Your Home Sold NOW in Eastern CT

Despite high inventory, some homes still selling quickly.
Sold homes in Eastern CT

On Tuesday morning, I was standing in line at Gate 15 at TF Greene Airport in Providence Airport, waiting for my Southwest Airline flight to board for Albuquerque. My computer bag sitting on the floor next to me, prominently displays my business card.  It is pretty obvious to anyone around me that I'm a real estate agent in Gales Ferry.  I wondered if that might have precipitated the phone call I overheard from the gentleman behind me.  He made the call to his real estate agent and it was obvious he was a frustrated seller.  He was complaining about the lack of activity on his home and suggested his agent do an open house "to get some traffic through".  It took all the strength I could muster not to turn around and tell him my opinion of holding open houses.  Regular readers of this column know I feel open houses are a waste of time.  In fact, I think a St. Joseph Statue, properly buried would be more effective.

I wanted to ask him about his home's pricing and condition and also how the photos of his home appeared to buyers on the internet.  Yes, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record.  It just seems so simple to me. Get your home in outstanding condition.  Check.   Price your home at fair market value.  Check.  Showcase your home on the internet with plenty of good photos.  Check.

Sold. That was easy.
