Selling Your Home Faster On the New CT MLS

Home inventory remains high in Eastern CT.  I listed a great little home in Gales Ferry just a couple weeks ago.  It was priced at $245,000 and had plenty of competition in this price range.  But this home was "picture perfect" inside!  As a result of being able to feature some nice photos (one included here) on my internet sites and on the Eastern CT MLS, we attracted buyers and got lots of showings quickly.  It sold in 2 weeks, well below the current Ledyard home sale average of over 80 days on the market. 

As more and more buyers are searching the internet to create a "to see" list of homes, a home's photographs can make a difference on the number of showings a home receives. With our new CT MLS, the addition of more photos is now possible.  I'm always amazed at some of the home photos I see on the internet -  complete with clutter on kitchen counters, newspapers and magazines on coffee tables, and way too much refrigerator art.   

My friend Craig Schiller does home staging in the Chicago area.  His website features photos of some of his makeovers titled "Our Best Afters". These kinds of photos sell homes.  Take a careful look - you won't see fancy furniture or elaborate decorating - just nice colors, simple arrangements, clean lines and most importantly, no clutter.
