I'm not sure if the weather has anything to do with it, but buyers were out in force this week, most notably in the $275,000 and below price range. I wouldn't be surprised if we started to see some multiple offer situations especially in the lower price ranges. For sellers, inventory is going in the right direction as the number of active listings dropped to 96 last week. There were 3 new listings, 4 pending listings, and 2 closed sales in Ledyard in the past 7 days.
The number of registrations on my homebuyer's website as well as "hits" on my listings on sites like Zillow and Home Gain jumped markedly last week. This is pretty surprising since last year at this time the market fizzled right after the 4th of July holiday. With the $8000 tax credit and low interest rates, I'm feeling confident that the summer market will be better than expected.
