Happy Birthday To My Blog!!!!

Exactly two years ago I wrote my first blog post. I'm not a pioneer in real estate blogging but I caught on early enough and since most real estate agents don't blog at all, I guess two years is ancient. For me, one of the most interesting rewards of blogging has been how much knowledge I've gained about the area, as I research a little history, follow local events, and look for good photo opportunities for Eastern Connecticut Photo Friday.  In addition, analyzing local real estate statistics for my blog has made me a better Realtor® It was a side benefit I never anticipated.  Blogging has also opened the door to opportunities like speaking at the RE/MAX International Convention for a second time this March.  I love that gig! 

The very best part of blogging is the friends you make along the way. I've had a chance to meet a bunch of wonderful bloggers in person and find it surprising that most bloggers share the same personality as their blog. Most bloggers write like they talk so there are usually not too many surprises when you meet a blogger, although most everyone says I'm taller than they thought I was.  I don't think the same is true with a personal website where people talk about themselves in superlatives and use a stiff photo that was taken 10 years ago. 

So back to the party. Have a piece of cake and a glass of milk. (My blogger friends know I don't drink.)

While the terrible twos are often predictable, I expect the next year to only be terrific!!
