| October 11, 2007 | | Clark's Alzheimer's fundraising tops $100,000 | John Clark of Gales Ferry, is an avid road cyclist and a member of the Pequot Cyclists Club in Southeastern CT. He cycles for sport, but also has a more personal reason; since 1999 he has raised over $109,000 riding for Alzheimer’s Disease. This September, John, along with his bear mascot Vivian, took a 1450 mile ride from Portland, Oregon to Los Angles, California, hoping to raise another $17,000. John cycles in memory of his mother Jeanne, who passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2004. John writes a trip journal along the way, complete with magnificent photos of the scenery he passes.
