Southeastern CT Real Estate Blog Bits

Baby blogs that didn't grow up

I usually have a number of blog posts in the pipeline. Sometimes, my thoughts never quite reach a full blown post but the idea remains.  Here are a few blogs I started working on that never quite grew up:

In 154 of 169 municipalities, Connecticut households earning the median income are unable to qualify for median sales price homes in their own hometown. This needs fixed.

The Norwich Bulletin reports that players put more than $1 billion into slot machines at Mohegan Sun in July, setting a record for the amount played in a given month since either Foxwoods or the Mohegan Sun opened in Connecticut.   What can I say but "Wow"!!!

What happened to the theory that a real estate slowdown would reduce the ranks of realtors?  Despite fewer sales in 2007, the membership of the Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors continues to grow.  I don't get it.

Housing prices in Connecticut increased 66% between 2000 and 2006 and continued to rise in 2007 contrary to trends nationally.

I stopped having garage sales. You offer something for $2.00 that is worth $20.00 and someone offers you $1.00.  I prefer real estate negotiations, thank you.

According to Jeff Blodgett of the Rocky Hill based Connecticut Economic Resource Center, The number of home sales in Connecticut during the first quarter of 2007 were at their lowest point in 10 years.

And so it goes...I'll post a grown up blog real soon.
