Old Saybrook's Acton Library and the Tides of Time

Old Saybrook Acton Public Library

I attended a meeting at the Acton Public Library in Old Saybrook and was mesmerized by the 25 foot long by 5 foot high ceramic tile mural called Tides of Time. The tiles, donated by town residents,  illustrate the history of Old Saybrook. The largest tile in this photo depicts Thomas Acton and the library building he donated in 1872. This building, located at 40 Old Boston Post Road, served as the Old Saybrook Library for 89 years.

This is only a small portion of the mural.  It's worth a visit to see the rest of the picture!
