| August 21, 2007 | | Warren Group reports on first half statistics | Who can figure? While the number of home sales in the area declined, prices have actually increased in New London County during the first half of the year. That's the report of the Warren Group, publisher of The Commerical Record. The bad news? I don't believe the trend will continue since sales appear to have slowed since June. Overall listing inventory has remained steady in most towns in the region. New London and Stonington seem most out of balance when comparing current inventory with closed sales for the year. The following is a list by town of the current number of residential active listings and 2007 sold listings.* | Town | Active Listings | SOLD | | | | | Ledyard | 124 | 146 | | Groton | 208 | 174 | | Stonington | 209 | 127 | | N.Stonington | 51 | 34 | | East Lyme | 154 | 154 | | Waterford | 137 | 137 | | NewLondon | 146 | 80 | | Montville | 121 | 138 | | Norwich | 210 | 142 | | Griswold | 74 | 71 | | Preston | 38 | 33 | | | |
