Eastern Connecticut Sunflowers for Wishes

This is a heads up blog post before the official blog post about my upcoming July 2007 visit to Buttonwood Farm in Griswold.  Last year around this time, I blogged about my adventures at Buttonwood where the skies are blue, the ice cream is superb and the sunflowers are just waiting to be photographed. 

Each year since 2003, the good folks at Buttonwood Farm have planted 10 acres of sunflowers providing about 300,000 blooms to be sold in bunches, with proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  This year the event will be held July 21th - July 29th.

This is probably one of my favorite photo opportunities of the year and the fact I can eat ice cream while doing it makes it even better.  I plan to make my annual trek next week.  I won't be able to share any ice cream but I'll have plenty of photos!
