| April 21, 2007 | | Recent Blackberry outage goes unnoticed by Gales Ferry duo. | I love my Blackberry. Being able to access my email when I'm on the road or out of town keeps me connected to my Gales Ferry real estate office. I've even been known to sneak a peek at my emails during my Ledyard Town Council meetings. I was once able to forward a contract to a seller client without missing a vote. In fact, bowing down to check your email before a meeting is known in user circles as the "Blackberry Prayer". Raving fans of the device refer to themselves as "Crackberry" users. Needless to say, they were just a tad bit upset when email service was disrupted Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. They seem to be even more upset by the limited response of the company, who said the outage was triggered by "the introduction of a new, non-critical system routine," whatever that means. And me? Well, we slept thought the entire event. I, in my bed, and Blackie, in his cradle. It was sweet dreams for this Gales Ferry duo. | | | |
