| April 13, 2007 | | Coastal Living Magazine names New London, CT a Hidden Gem | It's nice to read something about New London other than it being the city of the famed eminent domain decision of the Supreme Court. Coastal Living magazine recently named New London one of their "hidden gems". and seemed most impressed with the history of this coastal community and the 18th and 19th century housing available here. And while not all of New London housing is of that vintage, if you did a search of homes for sale in New London today, only about 25% of the current listing inventory was built since 1950. Don't expect to find many new homes in New London! Instead, Classic Victorians, Greek Revivals and turn of the century homes are more readily available, many still rich in original details and some with water views. With an average price of $248,000 in 2006, a piece of history isn't all that expensive to own. | | | |
