| March 28, 2007 | | The real estate business is a whole lot more and then some. | I was attending a septic inspection today at a house in Gales Ferry. I know why I found it so funny. While I was looking into the septic tank, I couldn't help to think about a gal I talked to this week. She was thinking of becoming a real estate agent because she loved looking at houses. Becoming successful in real estate is more than just looking at houses. Yep, somedays you need to look at (or into) septic tanks. The day to day part of the business can wear you down, if you are not prepared for it. I see lots of potentially successful agents who should make it in the business but don't. What makes the difference? It's my Tiger Woods theory. Tiger wins a lot of tournaments but some are a little harder to win than others. One of the expressions Tiger uses on just those occasions, is that he had to "grind it out" for the win. The real estate agents "grinding it out" everyday make it. Those waiting for the California buyer with a pocket full of cash don't. It is really that simple. | | | |
