Is it still Christmas in New London County?

Christmas decorations still brighten the New London area

Deflated Groton SantaAs a real estate agent in the Groton/New London area, I do a fair amount of driving through local neighborhoods. I'm rather surprised at how many houses still display Christmas lighting, door wreaths and even yard decorations!  Yep, there are still plenty of those lighted deer and hanging icicle lights on homes in the area.  My favorite might be the deflated (formerly inflated) Santa and Snowmen in little piles on the front lawns. Maybe I just never noticed them before because they are usually covered in snow by now.  I happen to like Christmas decorations a lot and I'll even admit I still have a Christmas wreath on my front door. But, c'mon folks, this is February! Have you ever considered that all these Christmas decorations may prolong winter?  Maybe it's not whether Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow that matters after all!
