Groton Real Estate Info Is Just A Click Away

Groton Town Website Offers Plenty of Content

As a member of the Ledyard Town Council, I've expressed my displeasure at Ledyard's town website .  Besides looking ugly, the site doesn't offer the kind of information that should be available to members of the public.  Perhaps more importantly, it doesn't give a developer or anyone interested in opening a business in town, a good picture of all that Ledyard has to offer.  One of my favorite sites in the area, is the website of the Town of Groton.  While it isn't a real pretty site, it is full of interesting information and useful links presented in a well organized and user friendly format.

I love being able to go there and explore the history of Groton online and look at all the old photographs. You can also pay your taxes online and review the agendas and minutes of most commissions and agencies. Don't look for a link to the Zoning Commission on Ledyard's website or even the names of Ledyard Town Councilors. Groton's website lists each councilor, and complete contact information including an email link.

As far as real estate, Groton's site is nirvana.  Real estate agents love the site because just about everything needed is online - assessor cards, taxes, maps, and land use information.  I know that Ledyard Mayor Mendenhall and Town Planner, Brian Palaia are looking for some resources to upgrade Ledyard's website.  I fully support that effort and recommend they look to our neighbors in Groton for a good example of an outstanding town website.
