| December 31, 2006 | | New London area real estate still difficult to show | I once was known in the area as the "Lock Box Queen". I received that dubious distinction back in the 1980's when my office, along with a few other RE/MAX offices in CT, became the first to start using lock boxes on a regular basis. 10 years later, I fought hard to convince the local Eastern CT MLS system to convert to electronic lock boxes. I've never understood why there was and still is so much resistant to a system that is used throughout the national real estate community. But from Norwich to Groton and New London and beyond, real estate can still be difficult to see and show in the area. It is slowly changing but there are still a fair amount of listings where the "listing agent must be present" for the showing. With the current inventory, this is a huge mistake for a seller. If a buyers agent can't reach the listing agent who must be present, it is easier to just move on. Next. | | | |
