| October 26, 2006 | | Third quarter statistics now available |
The Eastern CT Realtors® Information Service Inc. third quarter statistics are available and the news is not surprising. Compared to a year ago, the number of single family homes sold in Eastern CT is down 6%, while the median sales price is down about 2% to $260,000. The total number of multifamily units sold is down 38%. Meanwhile, inventory throughout Eastern CT has risen to unprecedented levels. What bit of good news there is, comes by way of condo statistics. The number of condo units sold this quarter is up 4% over last year while the median priced condo has increased from $155,000 to $185,000. This good news is largely due to a number of new construction complexes which continue to sell at a good pace. Leading the way for condo sales is Norwich at 136 sold units and Groton with 129 sold units. Sales reported by the members of the Eastern Connecticut Realtors Information Service, Inc. do not represent all sales. Information deemed reliable but not guaranteed. | | | |
