Fall is my favorite time of year! I like the color, the smells and the chill in the air. I especially enjoy stopping by Alice Acres to pick up my mums each year. I stopped by yesterday and Rex was guarding the place as usual. Well, not exactly guarding, but he was in one of his favorite spots between the tomatoes and the decorative corn. Right in front of the hot peppers. Farmer Pete was there with his new blond lab but Rex didn't seem to mind. It was business as usual. Business is the farm market and hosting affairs at the Bud Crandall Memorial Pavilion. Drive by and you'll see birthday parties, picnics, and even weddings being held there - all carefully watched over by King Rex. Next year Pete and Rex are hoping to be serving ice cream. They have applied to build a new Ice Cream Shop! Since Alice Acres is between my office and my home, I'm excited! YUM!

Alice Acres is located at 39 Military Highway in Gales Ferry.
