Gales Ferry/Ledyard Weekly Update

Home listings and sales in Ledyard during the week of 7/23/06

This week's report is much rosier than last week!! The number of homes for sale in Gales Ferry/Ledyard remained almost the same with 128 active listings as of this posting. There were 5 new listings this week but 3 of those were re-listings of homes that had previously expired or were withdrawn from the market. A new statistic to watch is price reductions - there were 11 price reductions among the 129 active listings this week. There were 4 pending sales and 8 closed sales.

August is traditionally one of the slowest months in real estate. But this has not been a traditional year so I think all bets are off. In addition, lots of buyers have been postponing their home buying decisions so I think we might see a flurry of activity in August. As far as the future, September and October are generally very good months.
