Fireworks by Grucci

Tonight promises to be a real treat for anyone in Eastern Connecticut who loves fireworks.  The famous Gruccis will be performing their “world class” fireworks extravaganza as part of New London’s 29^th annual SailFest event.  The term “world class” comes with some significance.  If you visit the Fireworks by Grucci website, you’ll discover that only a few of their shows each year come with the “world class” tag.  For 4^th of July events, “world class” means a choreographed show of 24-26 minutes and a budget in excess of $75,000. Fortunately, the Mashantuckets, who sponsor the event, have a big fireworks budget, and those of us who like watching are the direct beneficiaries.  For folks that understand firework speak, we’ll be seeing over 22,000 shells brighten the sky!  As their site indicates, the Gruccis from Long Island, are the artists who have produced fireworks for seven consecutive Presidential Inaugurations.  For anyone who has ever watched and listened, they are indeed artists!
