Gales Ferry/Ledyard Weekly Update

It was Our Lady of Lourdes parish festival weekend and as usual it rained most of the week-end.  That didn't seem to dampen the spirts of internet lookers, as web hits were way up this weekend and we had more than our average of calls and inquiries.  Perhaps people were stuck in front of their computers instead of working in their yards and gardens but it was really quite amazing.  Hopefully this is a developing trend and those inquiries turn into showings. 

In general, activity in Ledyard remains weak with only 1 pending sale this week. However, there were 6 listings that expired or were withdrawn so overall listing inventory remained steady and under the 110 mark.  I get concerned when listings top 110. 

There were 6 closed sales this week, with half under $300,000.  Overall closed sales are off significantly over the same period last year.  There have been 65 closed sales in Ledyard so far this year.  During the same time period in 2005, there were 98 closed sales.
