| May 07, 2006 | | Inventory up but market remains steady. | I recently returned from a meeting in Annapolis, MD with 32 of the top real estate agents from around the country. Most of these Cyberprofessionals report market updates similiar to those of Eastern CT. They, for the most part, agreed that sales were steady but not the wild ride of last spring. In some areas of the country however, things were downright slow. Fortunately in Eastern CT, although inventory is up, we are selling houses at a steady pace. As an example of rising inventory, Ledyard has been hovering around 95 homes for sale compared to the 65-70 listings of last year at this time. This is good news for buyers who have more real estate listings to choose from. But sellers should not despair as homes priced right and in good condition still sell quickly and multiple offers are not unheard of. | | | |
